Sustainable Clothing Is Anything But Boring

Sew your own clothing more thoughtfully may seem like a challenge and anything but boring. This article will be about trying to bring new perspectives to eco fashion. Those days are over when sustainable fashion was associated with unflattering styles, and when conscious fashion followers needed to be compromised at all. More and more brands are taking initiatives and having total transformation by selling sustainable and fashionable products, which is amazing!

They urge you to grab a bag and take in all your unwanted clothes through “take back” schemes, and of course the big splurge in buying second hand and vintage also a positive approach, however I would like talk about how you can be sustainable and make fashion clothes, accessories without throwing away, buying anything instead spice your existing stock up! Revamp your old clothes with DIY old clothes reform and clothes refashion, and which is the fun in all by doing so you can make it unusual. Who said being conscious is boring ?

Quirky style clothing gaining more popularity as they tend to express ones personality more so, than the mass made. It can be reached through a customisation process or with a few simple cuts, crafts. That is mainly why I love inspiring others to grab a thread and a needle.

Sewing is of course one of the best, since once you dedicate your precious time and learn the skills to sew something your creation most likely will be adorned on a long term and be an ornate precious piece of your wardrobe.

When we make we pay more attention to our creation and can look after the quality by buying better fabrics, higher value haberdasheries for example. This fact on its own is sustainable. Alternatively, you can just take one you already have in your closet and transform it, refashion or reconstruct. And whilst you do what is stopping you to let your fantasy go and diy some funky fashion clothes?

Of course, it comes with a responsibility of being noticed and approached, but perhaps this is the time to awaken our confident self and learn how to stand out and not constantly trying to fit into mass produced uniformity.

Fashion is the best resource to channel our message and such light-hearted fun way to play around with many styles and forms of expressions!

If you just kick off your sewing and dress making journey start your tailoring process with sewing patterns that are great for beginners, the ones that gives you comfort and fills you up with happiness and boost your confidence. Materials like canvas, cotton, felt could be great for any beginner sewing projects.

Alternating and recycle your old clothes could also be a great place to start, cutting them up, making smaller changes for example. Unbelievable but true, fabric cuts and scraps we normally just clean up and dispose can actually be useful for plenty of smaller projects. Textile leftover pieces could be enough for anything between a headband, through tea towel to interesting book mark sewing DIY..but circling back to fashion DIYs, eco fashion can be stylish, innovative and creative! Its about timelessness not about wearing the same washed out khaki dress made from plant based recycled grass!

If you like me, you love colors and bright uplifting happy unusual fashion accessories and funky outfits. I love bright, colourful clothing it sparks joy and most of the colors on the palette make me feel excited.

Colours are more than just splashes of patches, it speaks to us on an incarnate level, it affects how we feel and how we feel affects what we wear and what color we wear.

Did you know ? Studies shows that colors has a direct affect on our abilities. Groups of students were tested when half of the group were asked to put on white lab coat whilst the rest wore swimming costumes whilst taking exams and the group dressed as scientists had way better exam results. It’s very interesting how we can trick our mind.

That isn’t a coincidence having multiple coloured lightings in Infra saunas, each and every shades creates a different reaction in our brain which then affect our blood stream system. There is a reason why yellow isn’t used on airplanes and motorways, ones says it’s too invigorating.

Now let’s tackle shorter day time and longer, cooler darker Autumn afternoon and enliven ourselves with a few thoughts of making some of most vibrant, colorful, metallically shiny fashion DIY ideas whilst it’s all cosy inside.
