Stitches are basic and of course very useful little steps along the sewing journey, even those who don’t make much creative dress making know how to fix up a stripped button or repair a socks. With simple running stitches you can make wonders and execute many fixes. And beyond the basic stitches there are several fun and decorative embroidery stitches that can be used and utilised when making. Here I am going to show three types of stitches I use when I create with my hands.
CHAIN STITCH
Chain like stitches are one of the most ancient one out of all stitches, which is oftentimes used in embroidery and sewing.
2. BLANKET STITCH
This pretty little decorative stitch is the most versatile one, it used to be used to stitch up the edges of blankets, nowadays it is commonly used to cover up edges of felt materials and thicker decorative fabrics, hobby craft textiles.
3. CROSS STITCH
Cross stitch also has been around for ages, and it is one of the easiest forms of hand embroidery to learn. In case elongated cross stitch pattern we can spice up any garments and add a splash of design to any fabrics.
