CHEEKY PUFF PUFF SLEEVE SHIRT DIY

When it comes to average day approach we love wardrobe staples and general basics inheriting from French’s classic capsules that stand the test of time and can go any time of the day regardless of the year we are in.

A black crew neck jumper, jeans are proud and versatile pieces of any wardrobe as they just can’t let you down ever. It always incredibly comfortable when we just whack some good basics on without thinking for a second and still look great and well put together… however sometimes you may think:

where has the FUN gone ?

Life isn’t just too short wearing boring and safe outfits ? Life isn’t just dull seeing beige all the time when we have such a colorful existence ? Even the most minimalist classic style lovers admit that this can actually get a bit bland and sometimes craving for color kicks in.

We all want to experiment time to time and feel like adding a bit of spice and shake up the sensible approach! Colorful fashion blogs are full of amazing ideas of displaying unusual color palettes and vivid color combinations can seem shocking at first for the “untrained” eyes but they lit you up nevertheless and there is always a way to incorporate them into your life. There is sense of newness, freshness and energetic charge a HIGH VOLTAGE you feel when you look at colorful spunky pics promoting colorful living.

With handmade clothes and smart fashion DIYs tips you can create a new exciting vibe into your closet without abandoning an established personal sense of style. It works like magic with the details and little attention we can play similarly with home decor DIYs too, if we want liveliness in our rooms instead of painting an entire wall into bright green we can change any easily movable elements to create the same “color - print - shape killer trio” filled effect with pillows, cushions, wall arts, smaller decorative objects and materials.

For the same reason I adore the ideas of handmade DIY accessories since it only takes a few seconds to transform any outfit into something completely different with the magic help of fashion accessories, and by making your own customised handbags, clutches or necklaces you can own some exciting, unique, one of a kind fashion pieces shaped by your personal style.

What else can really create a wardrobe filled with fun then adding a puff sleeve top ?

Puff sleeves, big, rounded shoulders accented by balloon sleeves are an eye- catching formula into your creatively styled wardrobe and is a perfect way to spice up your old shirts making this a fun easy to follow re-fashion DIY sewing project.

Puffs, round puffs and cheeky puff puffs. Balloon sleeves and puff sleeves are the biggest runner up in fashion trends now-days you can not see a fashion blog especially a creative colorful fashion blog without the cute ball shaped sleeves returning season after season and they are here to stay.

Of course it can be less volumised and more modest, but unusual quirky clothing favours enlarged, volumised details, the one that shows you a bit larger bite you might think you can take.

Have the appetite to a larger than LIFE approach this shirt is all about it.

It is a refashioned upcycled fashion clothes idea twisted another big trend in 2021 is the tulle net fabric. Tulle net is reoccurring in the shape of ruffles, boxy shirts, dresses over shirts so picking it in bright neon color just add pop and infuse further exciting features to the sewing project.

I have used up plenty of bits and leftover scrap pieces of materials and also managed to rework some very finely knitted curtain tulle net. It is never a good thing wasting leftover materials and not utilising fabric scraps, so perhaps if you can think of anything similar this would make this not only a recycling project where you give a new life to any dull outfit and recycle it back to life but also a perfect sustainable fashion DIY sewing tip, as this top ending up being totally embellished with fabric leftovers from other projects being saved.

Whatever the occasion, the puff-sleeve trend is a chic way to update everyday basics. A puff sleeve is bold and delicate at the same time. It's an expression of femininity that doesn't shy away from the spotlight.

SEWING TUTORIAL HOW TO REFASHION A SHIRT INTO A TULLE NET PUFF SLEVE T-SHIRT DIY:

This feature can be added to your existing outfit, update your old clothes you are bored with and add some life to your basics.

  1. Lay down your shirt and cut the sleeves off by the hem. Then cut it along the line of the sewing line so the tulle net ruffles can be sewn on.

  2. To create the tulle net ruffles and the volume, cut strips of tulle net in the width of 7-8 inches ( 18-20 cm), get your scraps length in the same too.

  3. Grab a thread and the needle and start sewing these strips up with the most basic beginner stitch style and make it into a ruffled strip. If you found some fabric pieces are smaller hand sewn them at the bottom instead stitching through in the middle.

There is no strict rules should be applied at this point. You can hold together more tulle net fabric layers and mix soft ones with hard ones. If you are using up scraps and leftover that are awkward shapes, don’t worry about shaping them at this point you can fine tune the ball shape once the sleeve is ready

Once you have your ruffled strips, sew them on to your sleeves leaving an inch space between lines and apply them as you see fit to your styles.

4. Once you completed a sleeve all your need is reattach back to your t shirt, turned them facing and sew the side of the sleeves along the hem again just as you cut them off and reattach to your shirt along the sleeves line.

5. Don’t forget to re-shape with a scissors and cut of any excess bits hanging out to get a nice puffed shape.
