My inspiration can come from anywhere, but I often find it is nature and festivities from which I source a great deal of ideas. Flowers, for example, are one of my most regular design motifs, appearing on quite a few of my projects. They have such a fascinating abundance of colours and styles that they make the perfect embellishment, especially when helping to lift the brilliance of a plain item of clothing.

They can be bold, beautiful and vibrant, combining bright colours, or they can be understated and cool, subtly forming their style from discreet accessories and embellishments. it is from this endless prospect of creativity and freedom of expression, as well as the happiness unique, sometimes unusual clothing can bring to people, that i draw my passion. 

My mind is constantly full of diy clothes ideas and i spend much of my time finding novel sources of inspiration that might allow me to produce a brilliant and beautiful item to share with the world.

I’m excited by fun outfits and combinations, those that stand-out and make passersby smile. and, as a passionate crafter, i feed this exciting vibe and colour therapy into each item of clothing i design and produce, with the intention of spreading positivity everywhere!

Spice it up with Dori was also created as an environmentally conscious fashion project, one that seeks to create garments from already manufactured fabrics or repurpose unused, unwanted clothing and support our environment, while saving them from landfill. there are so many existing materials in the world, many produced under the name of fast fashion, and each piece is a potential blank canvas that can not only be transformed but upcycled too, and into something unique!

With a few of my DIY clothing projects, i actively look to recycle old clothes, turning what would have been forgotten at the bottom of a wardrobe into a custom, showstopping garment. it is a concept very close to my heart, and i feel that producing homemade clothes from fabric recycling is both a platform for expression and joy, as well as an essential step toward building a more sustainable fashion industry, one that actively works to repurpose clothing instead of allowing it to become waste.
