SPRING FLOU-WEAR

State of FLOW - ers. We are all aware of the beneficial affects on our mood how it feels like being in the state of the Flow and being surrounded by the gifts of nature! So why not combine the two and let’s get in to it! My love for spring inspired me to make this top, which was one of my first project. A vest covered in flowers, one that revelled in springtime energy.

It’s a perfect piece to spice up any outfit, wether you are bored with your working shirt and need some extra layer of splash of colours over it or if you just simply into collecting fun clothes. It isn’t only extremely joyful to look at but also can be turned out to be as completely sustainable fashion item, an another eco fashion piece added to your wardrobe.

This project creates many benefits, firstly you can take an advantage and reuse your home decoration, faux silk flowers look so pretty and so easy to sew them onto anything, You don’t even have to get any materials for this project, just pick a vest or a top and upcycling your clothes.

With this refashion DIY now everything you touch and use are back into circulation. You can embellish your trainers, dress, top, sleeves, headbands … can’t wait to hear your ideas of what else ?

Approaching another project with a similar style, I transformed a pair of sandals, giving them a warm vitality with the addition of 3D floral tropical embellishments and decorative butterflies. These were kept subtle enough that they could comfortably and appropriately be worn in a strict working environment, allowing me to express myself through my outfit without contravening corporate guidelines on uniform.

Another bold DIY clothing project was an uplifting top, Smell the roses top decorated with fuchsia silk roses. It was a challenging endeavour because each petal had to be hand-cut before being treated to prevent the fabric from running, to then be handstitched onto the garment. The result was a 3D and realistic flowerhead that truly was a showstopper, making the effort certainly worthwhile!
