GOLD JACQUARD ROSES DESIGNER INSPIRED DRESS DIY
Dolce dress inspired by D&G SS2018 collection. Spotted out a dress magnificently displayed in a store window, it was just a simply piece of art! Started to get very excited :) “SA(E)W” so many DIY, crafting potential in this as obviously it is a DIY heaven item for someone with passion for creating & making :) If you decide to DIY your own I can guarantee you the end result will not let you down - this is a one of a kind piece, just simply beautiful, elegant, feminine and you can easily create a story around it.
WHAT YOU NEED TO CREATE YOUR OWN DOLCE DRESS:
Black & gold pattern jacquard material or a mini dress with A line, short sleeves & round neck. Depends on budget you can go for vintage fabric stores and sew your own, or bargain buy in a thrift store or update any of your item you bored with
Collar necklace embellished with black beads in different shapes, sizes
For the roses ( to follow the step by step tutorial making roses click HERE) - 2-3 metres acetate lining in vibrant colours
Many hydrangea flower heads in powder pink & pastel light blue
3-4 mm crystals - optional
Golden leafs metallic leaf appliques
Gold thread
Fabric glue & hot gun glue or a thread & needle
Purple statement brooch - optional
INSTRUCTION:
Once you have your dress ready sew the beaded collar to it, it will shift the dress and will give it an even more special vibe. Start adding the hydrangea flower heads along with the golden leafs, they can either glue them if you have fabric glue that works for you or hand-stitch them, the latter is a much longer process, it’s kind of like a forced meditation :) Optionally mini crystals can be added to the heads, which I did here and there. Attach the roses to the fabric once you made about 12 roses to each sleeves, fix them with a thread and needle.
